05 Dec The Winter Edit
Welcome to my annual, curated collection of unique sartorial finds from around the globe for your capsule wardrobe. Sustainable, feel-good materials, warm essentials, and the it-labels you need to know about, all in one shoppable place. From the ultimate modern classic outerwear to unisex neutrals and hard-working everyday staples, these are the pieces that will keep you warm and stylish for years to come.

The cashmere knit.
A beautifully soft lightweight cashmere knit in a stunning neutral hue is a must. Think greys, blacks, camels, or whites. Delicately lightweight, oversized, or with a slightly cropped cut, a cashmere knit is just perfect as a layering piece to tuck into your jeans or high-waisted skirts.
Cashmere sweaters are the epitome of easy, luxurious coziness, soft and elegant, and they look particularly lush if you go for an oversized fit (or size up).
A cashmere sweater is a piece you will love and keep forever, and will work well as a transitional piece or a winter layer, so choose an uncomplicated, timeless design, avoid trends and focus on quality over quantity.
I found the perfect SAMSØE SAMSØE Nola Khaki Turtleneck Jumper on Atterley.
With a nod to its Scandinavian heritage, Samsøe Samsøe create truly wearable pieces that combine the utilitarian ease of Copenhagen street style with a quintessentially Scandinavian spirit.
This is a beautifully soft lightweight cashmere knit in a stunning camel – khaki hue. Delicately lightweight with a slightly cropped cut makes it perfect to layer and tuck into jeans.
The padded parka.
I walk Else three times a day, seven days a week. Investing in a good, padded parka was a necessity and made my life a lot easier, especially during those dark, gloomy mornings when you really don’t want to leave your bed.
Arket has a great selection of parkas and this one ticked all the boxes.
With a knee-length and a roomy silhouette, this parka is ideal both for city escapades and the great outdoors. The water-repellent shell in recycled nylon and plush lining offers extra protection from the elements.
It’s made from used plastic bottles, recycled-polyester yarn helps reduce waste products and lessens the use of oil-based raw materials.

The statement top.
I don’t really do holidays but as we return to the pleasure of togetherness and celebrate the members of our chosen family I can’t help but feel the urge to dress up, take a breather, and feel at ease just with their presence and company. A statement top that I can wear with denim or vegan leather and a dash of red lipstick makes everything better. Or at least more festive.
This is the Anya Kimono, by Riise.
Effortlessly understated and designed with comfort in mind, the Anya Kimono in black is an essential trans-seasonal layering piece. Designed to drape over the shoulders, the 100% flax linen kimono, fuses a traditional silhouette with a style that can be cinched at the waist for a more tailored look. The plunging neckline and kimono sleeve detail make for a high-rotation wardrobe piece.
The sweatshirt dress
Good basics equals always in style. It’s easy to be effortless if you put so much forethought into the things you buy – then it’s just a matter of just throwing on any piece and go.
A high-quality sweater dress is highly functional and should set you on the right track whether you are running errands or having a casual drink after work.
I actually find sweater dresses quite fitting across the gender spectrum, as they can be combined with anything and everything from ultra-feminine boots to tailored trousers and oxfords. (yes, it really works).
This is the Jeen Dress by Baum und Pferdgarten.
This sweatshirt dress has slightly puffed sleeves at the shoulder. The dress has a regular fit and is made of a soft, thick texture with a fleecy interior. There is ribbing at the wrists, neck, and hemline. This piece is made of organic cotton and is part of their Basically Baum collection.

Casual comfort pieces.
Casual comfort is key. Minimalistic and monochrome, plush, cozy materials and relaxed silhouettes, both aesthetic and practical because you don’t have to compromise and sacrifice one for the other.
Streetwear is evolving and refining with many affordable options available, as the demand for beautiful athleisurewear is rising.
Here is where you will find the perfect women’s tracksuit set as well as trendy plus size clothing to keep you in good standing all year long, without breaking the bank.
There’s a certain safety in picking hoodies and tracksuits in muted neutrals and it’s a smart choice if you’re looking for garments that you will wear in rotation season after season.
I can’t talk about fashion without mentioning pre-loved shops.
Online shopping is great but don’t forget to check out your local second-hand shops and flea markets for treasure finds and one-of-a-kind investment pieces to find a great deal, and support circular economy.
Some of my most-loved and treasured designer pieces are second hand and it makes me feel so good that I breathed new life into them. Even online pre-loved boutiques like Vestiaire Collective and Rebelle are always full of fun and inspiration. This is where you’ll find the most-coveted, discontinued or out of stock Céline pieces (I spotted a gorgeous Luggage Mini 31 Leather in Blue) and exceptional pieces (like a Balenciaga puffer jacket with the tags still on, at a fraction of the original price).
Until the next seasonal edit,
shop mindfully.
