The latest addition to my capsule wardobe and an item I’ve been lusting over for years.
A high quality buttery soft dark jumper.
Knitwear is an important part of any well-currated wardrobe and the perfect base for creating both work and off-duty outfits so investing in a couple of well-made jumpers was essential for my capsule wardobe.
I wasn’t specifically after a Valentino sweater,until I came across this one.
Perfectly slouchy with a masculine cut and a slighlty oversized fit, well balanced with a V-neck to add structure to an otherwise easy-going piece.
A dark greyish blue shade goes with everything,it’s universally flattering and adds an air of sophistication to a soft cozy garment.
You have probably noticed that I wear a lot of (vegan) leather which I like to mix and match with softer more blurry and fuzzy pieces to keep my outfits balanced so choosing fabrics, fibers and textures is a well thought process for me.
Also choosing cruelty free brands and materials is crucial for my peace of mind.
This is 100% merino wool, which is unbelievably lushious, visually luxurious and also gratifying to the touch BUT it’s not vegan and according to current research, possibly not cruelty free either. I would never buy such a garment new. However I’ve had the opportunity to purchase this second hand and I took it. Even though I’m rather strict when it comes to buying non-vegan products, when it comes to second hand items I think it’s more sustainable and ethical to purchase an item that already exists in the market and has already been bought once in order to give it a new home rather that to take part in the on-going relentless consumerism and fast production of the fashion industry. I would definitely enjoy it more if it was vegan.
It fits me perfectly,it mixes and matches seamlessly with everything I own, minimal, simple and truly versatile,a piece I plan to take very good care of and keep for many many years.
Stay tuned for my next outfit post featuring this little piece of luxury!
