You can never have too many black staples in your capsule wardrobe and a timeless blazer is an ideal topper for any outfit no matter your shape, age or lifestyle..
I haven’t been adding a lot to my capsule collection archives here and that’s simply because I actually don’t invest often in clothes. When I do I make sure it’s something that I absolutely fell in love with and can be mixed and matched with the rest of my belongings.
My classic Armani blazer is the perfect example.
A bit tomboyish,with a clean straight line that can be worn to a business meeting in the morning, take you to brunch and then dressed down to a heavy metal concert with a pair of combat boots and a simple tee.
Two-buttons for a smooth fall,sleek lapels to get that effortless vibe and the slightest padding at the shoulders to enhance a powerful silhouette.
When you are looking to buy a new blazer keep in mind that it’s going to be a piece you will probably have for years to come, so go for the highest quality you can afford in a neutral tone that will blend seamlessly with the rest of your wardobe.Pay attention to the fit, make comfort your number one priority and rest assured that you will look your best when you feel comfy and relaxed in your clothes.Go a size up and have it tailored if you are in between sizes. Make sure that the lapels are in proportion with your figure,and that the sleeves of your blazer hit mid-thumb when your arms are down at your sides. Natural, eco-friendly fabrics are always the best choice for self-explanatory reasons.
No matter how many jackets I have hanging in my closet, I always end up reaching for a classic black blazer or a black faux-leather jacket so,for me, these are the pieces I choose to invest in and I’d rather wait ’till I find the perfect one rather that end up with a few mediocre options.
