In the midst of a pile of deadlines, sleepless work nights and a packed schedule of fitting too much into too little time make sure you don’t forget to live. Take a little time to unwind and recharge.Find your inner peace and bring rest to your body and mind..

I find it very hard to stop and recover. The fear of work piling up, the fear of being unproductive for more that 30 minutes each day, the fear of the dark, fear of the dark I have the constant fear that something is always near..
I can’t and I won’t stop.Which has proven to be utterly unhealthy and unfruitful.

I may find it very hard to stop but I’m making an earnest effort to learn how to do so.

To get away from the daily demands and indulge in a microvacation.

I suspect it’s not just me who’s in a desperate need of a mini get away, it’s probably you too. The concept of a  microvacation is gradually growing in popularity simply because we need to disconnect from the screen that we are bound to and inhale some real life adventure, even for a day or two.

Autonomy and freedom.

A short break is easier to plan, you can even make a last-minute decision for an upcoming long weekend, without having to organize and commit to a massive trip.
Less stressful and easier on the wallet too, a microvacation is the perfect excuse to explore a new destination without using up all of your days off work in a single go. Packing light, bringing along only what’s necessary and not stressing out about luggage and airline restrictions.

Excitement and anticipation.

The fun begins the minute you start thinking of going away. The process of planning a vacation is just as fun regardless the amount of time you are spending being on the vacation itself.Just the fact that you have something to look forward to. Something to keep you going until it’s time to go…

Be mindful of your needs

..and plan accordingly.
Are you overworked and need to catch up on some zz’s before returning to your commitments? Or perhaps you are stuck behind a desk and need to shake things up a bit?In any case, wherever you are I’m sure there are plenty of options for you within a doable driving distance.

Take time to be you

How about getting out of your comfort zone and taking a trip alone to remember who you are and who you want to become? Let go of the fear-based thinking, let go of the expectations of others and uncover your true self, care-free and in the moment. Pets allowed, of course!

to celebrate the luxury of getting away..

To celebrate finding the balance between being productive yet harmonious..
Finding your happy place both literally and metaphorically and visit often, as often as you need..

without restrictions, without don’t and thou-shalt-nots..

Nothing to hold you back..Just you and your eagerness to fly..

  5. I really enjoyed this blog post, it highlighted the importance of “winding down” and having “me” time which I think is a contributing factor to working towards self-care and self-love. We often neglect ourselves in the midst of deadlines, work, friendships etc, I will definitely work on giving myself some more “me” time

  14. Agree!! Unlpugging is hard to do, but it is when I feel I CANNOT stop that I know I MUST. Getting away to come back to yourself can be a great antidote to workaholism (or an ism, for that matter). Thank you for this…. I’m planning my mini vaca now…. ☺️

    • the_chelf@yahoo.gr says:

Couldn’t agree more! Even on months we can’t really travel, we try to fit in at least one over night within 3 hours of where we live, just to get away. Love it!

    • the_chelf@yahoo.gr says:

      It’s so refreshing isn’t it?

    • the_chelf@yahoo.gr says:
