26 Mar Chocolate Bruffins for Hybrid Food Haters
I generally hate hybrid foods. I see no need for cronuts and cragels.
As a firm advocate of simplicity when it comes to food I stick to good unprocessed ingredients and classic techniques to embrace my french culinary background. But then I made these muffins that tasted like brownies and here we are talking about bruffins.
They are really good so bear with me.
They are really easy to make too, the only thing is that you’ll get your fingers messy as soon as you get them out of the oven and probably burn your tongue as well, I’ll happily take the blame for that, that’s what friends are for.
Vegan Chocolate Bruffins
Muffins that think they’re Brownies
- 1 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
- 1 cup applesauce (unsweetened)
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup oat flour
- 1 pinch salt
-
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Melt the chocolate either in the microwave or on the stove using a double boiler. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes.
Add all the ingredients to a large bowl and mix until combined. Do not over blend.
Transfer the batter to a muffin pan lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 10 minutes at 350F.

Posted at 18:30h, 26 Marchlooks delicious! I love brownies and muffins so these are perfect for me! question, most chocolate chips have dairy in them, do you use a special kind to make them vegan?
the_chelf@yahoo.gr
Posted at 18:48h, 26 MarchHi there! Yes! I get the dark chocolate ones, make sure you check the ingredients first to make sure the brand you chose is dairy free. If you are based in the UK Tesco and Asda they both carry super wallet-friendly, vegan options!

Posted at 18:56h, 26 MarchWhen I first read the title, I was thinking what are Bruffins? Bran-Muffins? And then, I realized you meant “Brownie Muffins” and I couldn’t concentrate on anything else but the close up photo you took. YUM YUM YUM!! Saving this and giving it a go this weekend. =) ?
