Pro Wrestling | 5 Questions with a Pro-Wrestler and why You should Give it a Go

I was recently invited to watch and write about TWT’s pro-wrestling show, in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Why me you might ask. Got me. But it was fun and new (to me) and interesting nontheless.

I’m not one to say no to new experiences so I found mychelf watching the show, knowing nothing, wanting to know everything. I was provided with a good amount of information to get me started and of course I’ve done my own research as well.

– Here are 5 reasons why you should give it a go –

It’s pure entertainment.

Choreographed and immensely dramatized a pro-wrestling show will keep you on your toes unlike any other show.

Competitive sports and Theatrical Performance.

You get the best of both worlds

It’s a scripted event, it’s staged and performed by highly trained athletes so that you’ll be masterfully tricked into willingly believe it might not be so.

Pro-wrestling takes place on a thrust stage. Meaning there’s interaction with the audience and you’ll feel like you’re part of the story line.

Babyfaces and Heels.

A.k.a the good guys and the bad guys. You’ll find a character to love and a few to inevitably hate as well. And you’ll find a character that you’re able to relate to because afterall, these personas are just amplified versions of me and you.

And the part you’ve all been waiting for..

1  If you came with a warning label what would it say?

“Don’t ask if it is fake…”

2  Ok let’s get serious. Talk us into liking pro-wrestling.

Pro wrestling SUCKS… hah…
Well, no, Pro wrestling is, in my opinion, the ultimate form of combined sports and entertainment! No other sport in the known universe is as much intresting as PRO WRESTLING! If the only reason not to like it is because you think it is fake then why would you enjoy watching movies, series and theater plays. It is just a different kind of entertainment with real on stage live action, pain, blood, sweat and sometimes maybe tears!!!!

3  What does a pro-wrestler eat on a daily basis?

We are athletes so we feed ourselves as such.

4  What’s a common misconception about pro-wrestling?

People usually say that it is “fake”, but truth is that it is SCRIPTED! The pain is real folks! We hurt our selves on a daily basis so that we can entertain the audience! You should appreciate that! If not, then stop wasting our time calling it “FAKE”!

5  The world is about to end and you can only save one kind of training. Which one?

Cardio! Above everything, if your heart cannot follow your brain then you are dead anyway!

Make sure to check the official TWT website or Facebook  page.

A heartfelt thank you to the team for having me and to KRATERON for working with me on this post.

This was really interesting – never heard from a pro wrestler before! Still sounds super hardcore though, not sure if I’d be particularly good at it haha. I’ll pass this on to my hubby though who would enjoy this 🙂

    • March 29, 2017 at 10:47 am

Not quite sure I’d be good at it either 🙂 In which case we sit back and relax watching the show!

  • Amber Myers March 29, 2017 at 12:47 pm

    • March 29, 2017 at 1:12 pm

It’s scripted but the pain is real 🙂

  • Abhishek Goyal March 29, 2017 at 1:23 pm

What a unique post! I’m not a wrestling fan, but can’t deny the physical prowess of the wrestlers and the flare in theatrics! I can appreciate all the work that goes into a production and have certainly thought how cool it would be to be a part of it 🙂

    Mindful Rambles

    • March 29, 2017 at 2:24 pm

thank you so much! It really does combine the best of both worlds!

  • Chelsey March 29, 2017 at 2:40 pm

My dear Great Grandmother was all about watching these programs. Made us laugh everytime! Thanks for sharing – I love the Q&A approach

    • March 29, 2017 at 2:44 pm

that was my fave part of the post as well! glad you liked it!

  • Ana John March 29, 2017 at 2:52 pm

Woah! Now that is something, even with the show being scripted , the wrestlers actually fight and those hard blows must be so painful!

    • March 29, 2017 at 2:54 pm

      I can only imagine!

  • Fabiola Rodriguez March 29, 2017 at 4:43 pm

Here in Mexico, wrestling (lucha libre) is also a very popular sport. And wrestlers here also hate it when people say it’s fake! Personally, I have great respect for wrestlers like Krateron. They’re dedicated professional athletes, nothing less.

    • March 29, 2017 at 5:24 pm

      well said <3

  • Ally March 29, 2017 at 5:52 pm

My daughter is a huge wrestling fan, and I admit I enjoy watching it. Sure, it’s scripted but it’s not easy, these wrestlers train hard, work hard, and face real injury. And it is so much fun to watch!

    • March 29, 2017 at 6:04 pm

they do train hard indeed and they make it seem so easy. I have so much respect for them.

  • Ola March 29, 2017 at 6:31 pm

Interviewing a wrestler could not have been easy. At least his answers were straight to the point. Ha! You also did a nice job writing about this sport.

    • March 29, 2017 at 7:01 pm

It was actually a pleasure. It went so smooth and we really hit it off. And thank you, glad to hear you think I did a nice job, I had to start from scratch and research took me a couple of weeks 🙂

  • Megan Ellam March 29, 2017 at 8:31 pm

Great interview. Haven’t watched any wrestling in ages, but always loved it. Even named a Burger after The Big Sexy, lol. Its true these guys are athletes, performing a sport that is more entertaining than most.

    • March 29, 2017 at 8:36 pm

      haha, name on point dear!

  • Kelly March 29, 2017 at 10:45 pm

That is a really interesting topic! My dad loves pro-wrestling, I am a fan because he is, we used to watch it when I was a kid and he’s excited to get my son into it. Great interview!

  • Nina March 29, 2017 at 10:47 pm

I feel like I should go to a wrestling match at least once in my life. It for sure would be interesting.

    • March 30, 2017 at 6:25 am

      trust yourchelf

  • David Elliott March 30, 2017 at 3:34 pm

Cool interview with a pro wrestler. I had never heard any of them give that view of wrestling being fake. Given that they are entertaining us and being hurt in the process of that, we should appreciate that. Great post.

    • March 30, 2017 at 7:30 pm

      Thank you David!
